In Germany or France anyone who says that less than six million Jews were killed by the Nazis is given an automatic sentence of one or two years in prison. Any witness for them receives the same sentence, so they are allowed no defense based on evidence.
I know very little about the subject, but I know the Holocaust deniers are right.
Why?
Because I am a freeborn American. I know that anything the government REQUIRES you to believe is not true.
I also know that anyone who cannot face debate and needs the government to outlaw all dispute is, and I use this word rarely and specifically, a liar.
Denying the Holocaust is the duty of every decent person.

The brilliance of this statement is that it appears, after elegant crystallization, to be obvious. Don’t let the simplicity fool you; this short piece is the product of refined diamond-cutting. I doubt many of us saw the issue with such clarity. But now condensed into aphorism, it is a gem we can always keep in mind. I for one, can now see it as Bob does: crystal clear. Thanks!
It also takes a lot of guts to go after such a holy relic of the PC people.

I lived in Germany ofr 6 years in the late fifties and sixties. Never once did I hear the word “holocaust.” Germans, during the 70s, asked what the holocaust was – that application of the word did not begin until the 70s.
My family went to Dachau in 1969. Few of the pics in the museum were from Dachau – they were the same pics you see recycled – repeatedly – that have been shown to be fakes, or pics of piles of typhus emaciated corpses. Typhus was rampant in the camps. Typhus was still a threat even in the 60s and we had to take vaccinations for it – those shots HURT.
Poland has decreased the estimayes of the number killed at Auschwitz from 4 million to 1 million, and admitted the “gas chamber” exhibited is a “replica” built after the war. Funyy how the aerial phots taken when the camp operated never shows the smoking crematoria ovens and open pyres that supposedly existed.
Since Kurt Kiesinger, and the socialist coalition was elected, the West Germans slowly became cowards. They are afraid to face the facts and shove the holocaust down everyone’s throat – they are no better than the Nazis they supposedly hate. I hate seeing a great people so denigrated. Worse, they have done it to themselves. If Hitler can watch what is going on I’m sure he feels a bit of schadenfreude over the matter.
